Hilltoppers Set Sights on Birmingham for Second Event of Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Men's Golf is hitting the road to Birmingham for its second tournament of the season in the Graeme McDowell Invitational hosted by UAB. The Hilltoppers will compete over just two days, playing 36 holes on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.

There are 16 teams slated to compete at the par-72, 7,467-yard RTJ at Silver Lakes course including four schools from Golfstat's final top 100 rankings for the 2020-21 season. Host No. 36 UAB will have two teams in the field in addition to No. 65 FGCU, No. 86 ULM and No. 99 Louisiana.
 
Junior Luke Fuller will lead off the Hilltopper lineup as he did at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate earlier in September when he tied for 33rd.
 
Freshmen Riley Grindstaff and Stephen Warren will follow Fuller in the lineup as No. 2 and 3, respectively. Sophomore Connery Meyer will be in the four-spot and redshirt junior Thomas Hogan will earn his first start as a Hilltopper at the No. 5.
 
Sophomore Aaron Pha will make his season debut and play in his second-ever tournament for WKU as an individual.
 
In their last time out at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, WKU finished 18th as a squad.
