Hilltoppers Finish Off Regular Season at West Virginia

4/11/2021 2:00:00 PM | Men's Golf

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Men's Golf will compete in its final regular season tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by West Virginia. The 54-hole event will be played at the par-72, 7,308-yard Pete Dye Golf Course in Bridgeport, W.Va.

Beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Monday morning, WKU will play 36 holes to complete the first two rounds of the Invitational. The Hilltoppers will be paired with Appalachian State for both of Monday's rounds. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with pairings determined by Monday's results.

The Hilltoppers are one of 13 teams in the field that includes three Golfstat top-100 squads: No. 35 Georgia Southern, No. 52 UNC Wilmington and No. 79 host West Virginia.

WKU will play in a six-count-four format that was seen in almost every event the Tops played in in the fall. Graduate senior Christian Tooley will lead off the Red and White as he currently holds the lowest season scoring average for the team. With the success sophomore Luke Fuller has seen this spring, he will take the second spot in the lineup.

Freshman Connery Meyer will play as the No. 3 with senior Caleb O'Toole in the fourth. Rounding out the lineup will be seniors Jack Poole and Tom Bevington.

In its last time out, WKU finished 11th as a team at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate with its top individual finisher being Fuller at t-22nd.
